Knowsley Parent Portal – Free Childcare

    •    Online system for applying for Knowsley’s free childcare and early-education places.

    •    Supports applications for funded hours for ages 9 months, 2-year-olds, and 3–4-year-olds.

    •    Issues eligibility codes that parents give to childcare providers.

    •    Provides guidance on requirements, evidence needed, and available entitlements.

Liverpool Citizen Portal 

    •    Registration gateway to access Liverpool City Council’s child and family services.

    •    Used to apply for school places, free childcare funding, and early-years support.

    •    Allows applications for free school meals, travel support, and related services.

    •    Centralises multiple education and childcare processes for local residents.

A  new UK government “parent-hub” website and campaign launched in September 2025 that brings together support for families from pregnancy through early childhood and up to school start.   


It offers practical advice and resources about pregnancy, baby care, childcare & early years education, and preparing for school — and includes tools such as a “childcare support checker,” 


It also offers information on funded childcare, free breakfast-club and wraparound-care options, plus signposting to local support and “Family Hubs.”   


Knowsley Parent Portal is the online gateway for Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to administer free childcare and early-education entitlements for children in Knowsley.   


Through the portal, eligible families can apply for funded childcare places — for example free early-education for 2-year-olds, or the standard free hours for 3- and 4-year-olds; and from recent expansions, working parents with children as young as 9 months old may qualify (hours rising to 30 per week from September 2025).   


Once you apply, if eligible you receive a code to give to your childcare provider to unlock the funded hours.  

The Liverpool Citizen Portal is the online service portal for residents — once you register an account, you can use it to apply for a variety of child-services from Liverpool City Council. 


That includes: applying for funded early-education / 2-year-old funding / free childcare hours, requesting free school meals, arranging school travel support, or getting other early-years or family-related services.
